Registration 
THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.  Registration is only available online at www.active.com.
The field is limited to 800 participants.  Online registration closes on Thursday, May 29th at 10:00pm central time.  Each participant will receive a 100% cotton t-shirt, catered post-race meal. 

It is recommended that you register 10 days in advance of race day, since registration fees will increase on or after May 23rd. In the event the race reaches its field limit before Thursday May 29th, registration will close earlier.

Packet Pick-up;  Sunday, June 1, 2008 5:30am-6:45am
Packet pick-up is located at Sandy Beach.  Please make sure that you arrive early enough to receive your bib#, chip and t-shirt.  We will have a course review at 6:45am.  The race starts promptly at 7:00am. Each athlete will be assigned a wave with elite and relays starting first.  Waves will be shown on the participants bib number.

Body Marking 
After checking in, please go to the body marking area (signs will direct you). Your race number and your wave (found on the race bib) will be marked on your leg and arm. These markings will be used to identify you and people in your wave at the start of the swim.  After body marking, go to the T-shirt line to pick-up your goody bag and T-shirt.

Entry Fees 
Individual - $60 on or before May 22nd, 2008 and $65 on or after May  23rd, 2008
Relay - $90 on or before May 22nd, 2008 and $100 on or after May 23rd, 2008

Course Review
 

Swim
The swim will take place at Rock Lake.  Temperatures average between 62 and 68 degrees, so wetsuits are recommended but not mandatory.  The 1/4 mile swim is a counter-clockwise swim, keeping the buoys on the left.  There will be lifeguards on the swim course, if anyone needs assistance.   

Bike
The 15 mile bike course is an out and back on country roads.  The bike course is clearly marked with signs and volunteers at every corner.  Helmets are required and your bike helmet must be fastened before leaving the transition area.  Please stay on the right so others may pass you on the left.  There are no aid stations on the bike course, so please bring plenty of water on the bike. 

Bike course directions: exit the transition area, right on Sandy Beach Park Road, right on Main Street, continue straight on Mud Lake Road, right on County Hwy G, right on Hope Lake Road to a 180 degree turn before the intersection of Crossman Road, left on County Hwy G, left on Mud Lake Road,  continue straight on Main Street, to left on Sandy Beach Road, to right into the transition area.

Run
The 5K run is an out and back on Glacier Drumlin Trail.  There will be two water stations on the run course.  The first water station will be located right outside the transition area and the other one will be located at the 5K run turn-around.  Bib numbers must be worn on the front.  

Transition Area
The transition area is located in the Sandy Beach parking lot.  Individual spots will not be assigned, but signs will clearly designate the areas reserved for each age group.  Athletes should have their transition area equipment (i.e. bike, shoes, etc) set up at least 1/2 hour prior to your assigned start time.  Be sure to stay clear of the athletes during the race!
In order to make sure everyone has room in the transition area, each athlete should use only the minimum amount of space required to place their equipment.  Only participants are allowed in the transition area.  NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED IN TRANSITION AREA.  When you are finished with your race, please stay out of transition area until the last biker has come off of the bike course.  PLEASE stay to one side or the other when exiting and entering the transition area. If there are any problems with athletes not adhering to the rules in regards to the transition area, WTS had the right to disqualify the athlete.

Awards  
Awards will be given to the overall female and male winners.  Age group awards will be given to the top 3 males and females in 5 year increments: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65+, Awards will be given to top three Novice (female and male), Athena and Clydesdale. Top 2 awards for male, female and co-ed relay teams.  You must be present at the award ceremony to receive your award.  A friend or family member may claim your award for you. Awards will NOT BE MAILED.

What to Expect 
Wisconsin Triathlon Series provides a technically sound, safe and exciting triathlon. There will be plenty of water stations along the run course.  Bike racks will have your wave list.  All courses will have highly visible sign-age and volunteers at each turn.  Wisconsin Triathlon Series does not give refunds nor do we transfer fees from one participant to another.  

Event Rules and Regulations
Wisconsin Triathlon Series provides technically sound, safe and exciting triathlon.  
1. Must be 13 to participate.
2. Wetsuits may be worn.
3. Helmets and swim caps are mandatory, and it is your responsibility to bring them.
4. Drafting is not permitted.  Penalties and disqualifications will be given for drafting. 
5. You will need to wear a velcro chip (timing chip) around one of your ankles during the entire race - swim, bike and run.  No chip, No time.  It is your responsibility for lost timing chips.  The timing company charges $30 to any participant who loses their timing chip.
6. Rack your bike according to your wave number
7. Relays will exchange the timing chip in the transition area at the bike rack for each portion of the race.  If you exchange your chip outside the area, your team may be disqualified
8. All racers need to dismount the bike and walk/run across the mat before entering the transition area
9. All runners are required to wear a bib number and it MUST be worn facing forward when crossing the finish line.
10. Bring a copy of your receipt from active.com as proof of purchase for the race. Under no circumstance will WTS allow you to race if you have not signed up for the event.


Refund Policy 
Refunds are not given for injuries, illness, schedule conflict, inclement weather, etc. once your entry has been received.  Wisconsin Triathlon Series may deem it necessary to alter the format of or cancel events for safety reasons due to inclement weather, course conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.  If the course is altered for any unforeseen circumstances, there will be no refunds.  For insurance purposes, there will no transferring of bib numbers to another athlete. 

Directions  
Directions from Madison:   Take Hwy I94 East towards Milwaukee.  Take the Lake Mills exit to the right, continue on Main Street, and take a right on Sandy Beach Road.  From Milwaukee/Chicago take I94 West towards Madison. Take the Lake Mills exit to the left, continue on Main Street, and take a right on Sandy Beach Road.

Event Parking 
Parking is only available at the Rotary Parking lot, the Lake Mills Bowling Alley, Monte's Bar, and there is plenty of off street parking before Sandy Beach Road.  There is NO PARKING down at the transition area, and ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING at the TRAILER PARK, that is only for Trailer Park owners.
